About Us

BACKGROUND

AAA Systems was started by David Thornton in 2007 to provide a business identity for the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) work he has been doing for over 17 years. Over this period numerous and diverse ICT and information systems projects have been successfully completed, primarily in the voluntary and community sector.

PROFILE OF DAVID THORNTON

My studies have included further and higher education (e.g. Business Studies Diploma) as well as various training and professional ICT qualifications. I am a qualified ICT Technician and a member of The Computing Technology Industry Association (COMPTIA). I have also undertaken study for a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) qualification in Windows Server 2003 and am due to study an MCP in Microsoft XP in early 2008.

My work in support of ICT systems and managing projects in the Voluntary and Charity Sector is extensive. This has included, for example, managing a comprehensive ICT and information systems project at the Disabilities Living Centre, Nottinghamshire; managing the NHS Direct database at Self Help Nottingham; various database management projects and training and technical support for the ICT systems at the Nottingham Council for Voluntary Service. I am the ICT Systems Administrator for Self Help Nottingham, where I have worked for 10 years, and manage a range of information and technology projects, including all ICT systems, development and support. I have received bespoke training in html and website construction and in making ICT and websites accessible to all. I have developed, updated and maintained the Self Help Nottingham website and designed, constructed and optimised the website of Depression UK.
